This summer, many members of our community stepped into internships at some of the world’s leading technology companies.
They wrote code, solved problems, and discovered what it feels like to contribute their talents in real-world environments. Now, as they head back to school, they carry with them new skills, fresh confidence, and stories that inspire us all.
In this roundup, we’re shining a spotlight on a few internship journeys. These experiences represent more than just summer jobs—they’re milestones on the path to building careers, making connections, and proving that Black technologists belong everywhere innovation happens.
Amina, Prairie View A&M University – Technical Product Manager Intern at ServiceNow

Amina spent the summer as a Technical Product Manager Intern at ServiceNow’s headquarters in Santa Clara. She gained valuable insights into the TPM role, contributed to meaningful projects, and built strong connections with coworkers and fellow interns. Reflecting on her experience, Amina shared, “I learned so much about the TPM role. Thank you to my team for the support, guidance, and space to grow. I’m so grateful for everything this experience taught me!”
Ryan, Prairie View A&M University – Software Development Engineer Intern at Amazon

Ryan returned to Amazon as a Software Development Engineer Intern in Seattle, building on the foundation of a previous internship. He reconnected with teams, contributed to new projects, and continued sharpening his engineering skills. His journey reflects persistence, mentorship, and community support—all key ingredients in shaping meaningful career experiences.
Jada, North Carolina A&T State University – Software Engineering Intern at Microsoft

Jada completed an impactful summer as a Software Engineering Intern at Microsoft, where her work on browser automation significantly reduced test runtime. She contributed to multiple projects, collaborated with engineers in Redmond, and presented her work to teams in Tokyo. Beyond engineering, Jada participated in the Intern Hackathon (earning 3rd place), engaged in mentorship and ERG programs, and shared her projects at intern demos. Reflecting on the summer, she noted, “One of my biggest takeaways was learning to be more independent in troubleshooting and problem-solving—skills I’ll carry with me into every future challenge.”
Noah, North Carolina A&T State University – Software Engineering Intern at Cisco

Noah wrapped up his internship at Cisco on the Cryptography IPSec team, where he developed a Python-based AI tool using RAG and LangChain to help engineers transition more efficiently to quantum-safe cryptography. He describes the summer as transformational—an opportunity to contribute meaningful work, gain confidence solving real-world problems, and learn from supportive mentors. Looking back, Noah shared that the experience gave him “a deeper appreciation for teamwork, documentation, and cryptographic standards.”
As these students return to their studies, we celebrate their accomplishments and the bright futures ahead.
Their successes remind us why the mission of Blacks In Technology matters: to create space, opportunity, and visibility for Black technologists everywhere.
